Talking The Arts – Discussions on French & European Art Combined with Crepes and Wine At Four Frogs Randwick

Judy

Dear readers,  something very exciting has been taking place at Four Frogs Creperie in Randwick Spot where French culture and Arts have merged together.   For the next few weeks discussions will be held on avant-garde French and European artists that have changed our world and who with their bravery, determination and unique vision have forever reshaped how we perceive art today.  Discussions on artists like Monet and the Impressionists, Van Gogh and Picasso’s Guernica have already taken place and have been well received.  However, don’t despair if you have missed out on the first few events as more talks will be held on these topics in the future at Four Frogs Creperie or other locations.  For the time being, don’t miss next weeks enlightening discussion on “Paris, Capital of the Arts World” (Tuesday 13th April 6pm), “Leonardo Da Vinci: the universal artist” (Tuesday 27th April 6pm), Learn French with Arts (Monday April 26th 2.30-4.30pm) Monet: The threshold of modern art (Tuesday 25th May 6pm).

Talking the Arts is an event founded and hosted by the admirable and charismatic Corinne Estrada (photographed below) who has had a successful and long standing career working in the Communications and Art world in particular for prominent art galleries and museums like Grand Palais in Paris, Tate in London, the Guggenheim in Bilbao and whose own family history is connected to the arts.  Corrine’s love for the arts was intensified and cultivated by growing up in Paris’ famous and historic art district of Montmartre and having an artist for a mother and a grandmother who worked in Coco Chanel’s atelier was also an inspiration.  Corinne has spent most of her life living in Paris and New York and is now based in Sydney and founded Talking The Arts evening presentations as an approachable and non intimidating way to spread art appreciation to Sydney-siders when art galleries closed their doors during the COVID pandemic.   Future events will also include discussions on French history and culture on topics like: Masterpiece’s of the Louvre, Learn French with the arts (discussions on art in French), Monet: The threshold of modern art, Leonardo Da Vinci: the universal artist.

Other exciting events for art lovers are the excursions that will take place throughout the year organized and hosted by Corinne including an Art Retreat to Canberra (30th April -2nd May 2021) where participants will stay in Canberra’s Ovolo luxurious boutique hotel and be immersed in art for three glorious days.  The retreat includes a visit and discussion of two major exhibitions – Boticelli to Van Gogh and Know my Name ( go to nga.gov.au for more information) both held and the National Art Gallery of Australia.   More art events and talks will be held in Sydney at various locations throughout the year including Le Petite Louvre – a very befitting and delightful French fromagerie specialising in fine cheese and wine imported from France in Potts Point Sydney where French art, food and wine culture will come together very nicely indeed.

So dear reader, if you adore all things French culture, art and delicious crepes please don’t miss out on the next few art talks to be held at Four Frogs Randwick (30 St Pauls Street Randwick Spot).  Enjoy a delightful and informative lesson on art in English (some classes held in French too) over a glass of wine or cider and a savoury galette or sweet crepe and meet with the delightful Corinne Estrada and other art enthusiasts and Francophones.   For more information and where to purchase tickets to a talk or art excursion please visit: www.talkingthearts.com or go straight to eventbrite.com.au and follow Talking the Arts on Instagram for regular updates on events.

C’EST TOUT!
