French Classes Paddington & 2 duck trading company
At the top end of Paddington’s trendy Glenmore Road – the part lined with pretty fashion boutiques, cafes and well kept terraces you will discover a petite and Parisian inspired boutique French class offering French lessons to anyone who wishes to learn. Frenchclass in Paddington, at 32 Glenmore Road Paddington, founded by the charasmatic Martine Baboin, offers inspiring French lessons that will have you speaking French at a competent level within a few terms. Martine, who has been a French language teacher in France and in Sydney for many years, offers a unique and intensive method of teaching French by adopting many of the brilliant Michel Thomas language learning techniques and blending it with her own clever style. Learn French in a cosy, comfortable, unintimidating yet challenging setting where you will be in a class with a small group of students sitting around a big table sharing the language experience and conversing in French together. An oversized blackboard listing most commonly used French verbs will be the main reference point during lessons as Martine and her team of qualified, native French teachers reinforce the various grammar conventions, concepts and verb conjugations that are crucial in learning a language. Lessons are delivered in an entertaining, vibrant and thought provoking method that will inspire you in returning for more classes. I personally, have attended a few terms of French classes and have enjoyed every minute of every lesson and can now understand and speak French with a sound degree of competence and confidence.
Martine’s Foundation 1 & 2 classes are organised in blocks of 10 weeks where lessons are conducted once a week for an hour and a half. In Foundation 1 & 2, Martine introduces French grammar conventions and the necessary vocabulary and rules that gives students the vital building blocks of the French language. Students are offered downloads of recordings that correspond to each lesson in order to listen and practice in the week leading up to the next lesson which is usually a follow up to the previous lesson and recording. Martine makes French easier to learn and grasp by explaining concepts and grammar in English in Foundation 1 & 2 rather than adopting the total immersion method which is not suitable to all learners of a language. Intermediate and Advanced classes follow the Foundation classes and Martine also offers Children’s Foundation and HSC classes as well as Intensive learning lessons for beginners, advanced and HSC. At any level of learning, time is allocating to theory and practice so that students have the opportunity to apply what they have learned with a teacher listening in to help guide the conversation along. If you’re time poor or prefer one to one learning then private tuition and Skype lessons are also available.
